A RECORD-BREAKING NIGHT FOR BIG DOG RANCH RESCUE

Under the dazzling lights of Mar-a-Lago, an extraordinary evening unfolded as Big Dog Ranch Rescue hosted its most successful fundraiser to date. The prestigious event, held March 1-2, 2025, brought together a star-studded guest list and raised an astounding $4.3 million in support of the organization’s ongoing mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need.

The annual “Wine, Women & Shoes” benefit welcomed 1,400 philanthropic guests to an opulent luncheon and high-en- ergy live auction, highlighted by a captivating fashion show featuring adoptable dogs. The unexpected appearances of President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk elevated the event’s excitement, as both expressed their enthusiastic support for the nonprofit’s lifesaving work.

Susan Malzoni, who chaired the event, alongside co-chair Lora Drasner, led an evening brimming with generosity, glamour, and goodwill. Honorary chairs Denise Rizzuto and Nicola Verses, along with philanthropic chair Elena Cardone and Cardone Capital, played pivotal roles in orchestrating the event’s success. From fashion icons to influential political figures, the gathering underscored a shared commitment to animal welfare.

The evening’s runway spectacle, produced by Surf Soleil, seamlessly blended high fashion with heart- warming moments, as the four-legged stars of the night strutted alongside models adorned in designs by Anne Fontaine, Chiara Boni, Robert Graham, and Ala von Auersperg. Special guests, including Miss America 2025 Abbie Stockard, lent an added touch of elegance and prestige to the affair.

Among the distinguished attendees were Lara Trump, a dedicated board member of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, alongside notable figures such as Leandro Rizzuto, Jr., Peter Lamelas, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Senator Rand Paul, Senator Mike Lee, and Palm Beach Sher- iff Ric Bradshaw. Their presence further solidified the event’s status as a premier gathering of animal advocates
and philanthropic leaders.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue founder Lauree Simmons expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of generosity and support, emphasizing the event’s profound impact on the organization’s future initiatives. “This record-breaking success is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and commitment to saving lives,” Simmons remarked. “Having President Trump, Elon Musk, and so many passionate advocates join us in our mission was truly inspiring.”

Since its inception in 2008, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has rescued over 75,000 dogs, spearheading initiatives such as the “Make America’s Dogs Safe Again” (MADSA) program, which advocates for humane breeding practices and responsible pet ownership. The organization remains unwavering in its dedication to providing dogs with a second chance at life, ensuring they find loving forever homes.

The 2025 “Wine, Women & Shoes” event was not just a celebration of philanthropy but a powerful reminder that fashion, influence, and advocacy can unite for a greater cause. As the evening came to a close, one thing was certain— Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s mission is stronger than ever, with a community ready to support its vision for a future where every dog finds a home.
